ABSTRACT: Investigating the effects of early childhood education on social mobility is crucial for understanding its role in breaking intergenerational cycles of inequality. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education programs influence children's social mobility opportunities. The objectives were to (1) assess improvements in children's social skills and cognitive development, (2) evaluate the integration of mobility-enhancing activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's future aspirations and socio-economic outcomes. A survey design was employed to gather comprehensive data from participants, providing a broad assessment of the topic. A purposive sample of 130 children aged 4-6 years, from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, was selected to ensure relevant experiences. The case study focused on an early childhood education center in Rivers State, known for its socio-economic diversity and mobility initiatives. Findings indicated significant improvements in children's social skills and cognitive development, the effectiveness of mobility-enhancing activities, and positive changes in future aspirations and socio-economic outcomes. The study recommended integrating activities that promote social mobility into early childhood curricula and providing support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to enhance their opportunities.
